Passengers

he sat down
and simply began
in fact I think he began before
he sat down

he asked question after question after question
swift and invasive
unflinching and unashamed
his sweet easy nature
a precision weapon in a trained hand
he attacked and attacked and attacked

until
her defences
that started high and reinforced
were naught but shredded paper knights

in less than an hour
they were sharing like old friends

then it was his stop
he got up
threw a genial goodbye over his shoulder
and left

and I
from my ring side seat
silently applauded

  1. Bravo - almost feel like I was there.

  2. Absolutely totally adore this. Have been intending to comment on your work for ages and ages, but am totally useless. I agree with Jo B in that I feel I was actually there. Also that the ending was a little unexpected twist. Brilliant. Chris (ginger chap who occasionally looks unshaven and scruffy in your place of work)
